It has been quite awhile since I have blogged here, about my own work. I did a cool job for Make-a-Wish, where they had me design two bowls and help wish-kids to paint them, and they presented one as thank-you to Disney for 25 years of wishes and the other to the new CEO of Make-a-Wish. Fun job. I have been doing the library tile, finally, took a long time to get the job okayed, and has been hard for me to motivate to finish it, but getting close now. I'll post pics eventually, of all this stuff....

Working on another tile job here, a rush order...challenging, but fun... This is for a science lab in Chicago, Aaron Laboratories, their archive room (museum), an old fireplace. I am copying two bas-relief (sculpted) tiles, the sculpting is probably more challenging than copying the glaze...and the rush status is a little nerve-wracking...but I need the money!!

Desert Dragon Pottery is a professional pottery studio offering individuals space, equipment and learning opportunities for pursuing their clay-art. Mishy Katz, owner and teacher, offers beginning and advanced classes to all ages and brings in other artists for specialty classes and workshops regularly.

Pottery Classes for all levels and ages- at regularly scheduled times
$15 per person includes up to 4# clay and firing

Private Lessons instruction in wheel, handbuilding, glazes or firing

Open Studio for working in the studio on your own, using your own clay. Studio available for use everyday 7am-10pm. Clay and firings are available for purchase. Daily and monthly rates.

Workshops and special classes with outside artists, several times a year.
Prices vary depending on length of class and subject matter

Going to shoot in-progress photos of a tile-dragon, have already started shooting the styrofoam assembly/cutting part, which is a nasty messy process resulting in lots of flyaway little beads of styro.
